Hierarchical Organization of the SM- IMP Programming Model

This document outlines the current status of the SM-IMP project in regard to that part of the project which is concerned with the definition of a mixed SIMD/MIMD programming model for image processing applications. The document is written after of the SM-IMP meeting held in Rennes on April 12-13, 1994, and in preparation of the SM-IMP meeting to be held in Genova on September 13-14, 1994. The document summarizes the proposals made in writing by the SM-IMP partners before the Rennes meeting and/or presented at that meeting, reports the result of the discussion held at the meeting, and outlines a proposed organization of SM-IMP programming model.
